commentary posts > What is your favorite plant?

When I am asked to name my favorite plant, just as a movie -- The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly by the way, I just gush over Cup plant, Silphium perfoliatum. My enthusiasm for the wildlife-benefit merits of this native plant swayed many to give it a try. Though gush I did, I did mention its tendency to allow for plant sharing with friends, acquaintances,.... due to its reseeding tendencies. But gee, sharing is good! So one of my resolutions for the New Year is to share more.

So I am asking, what is your favorite plant?

Nepeta 'Walker's Low' - great all around plant. Stays in bloom for most of the summer and tolerates intense heat well. Looks great in my PA garden
